Sharing Space: A Festival of Community and Nonprofit Art Experiences

November 30, 2023 - January 13, 2024

Over the past year, the AGR has been working to strengthen and expand our partnerships and collaborations with other arts and community organizations, with funding assistance from the Canada Council for the Arts. Our ongoing partnership with Holophon is a prime example of this initiative. We are now pleased to announce Sharing Space: A Festival of Community and Nonprofit Art Experiences.

The Art Gallery of Regina is excited to announce a schedule of events organized by arts and community organizations that will activate the AGR's gallery space from November 30 - January 13. We recognize that many organizations don't have publicly accessible spaces to develop and showcase their work. By sharing the valuable resource of our space for activities such as workshops, creation, screenings, and gatherings, we help our partner organizations to support local artists and fortify our arts and cultural community.

Check our calendar on this page to get involved in free experiences and for event details as they emerge. We can't wait to see you there!

E. Dulanowksy and Jon Vaughn Album Release Party

10 - 7 PM

ERNIE AND JON RELEASE PARTY POSTER INSTAGRAM FORMATTED 002.jpg

Join us for an evening of mind-expanding Yuletide sound art.

Holophon members E. Dulanowsky and Jon Vaughn present their debut collaborative album, Dirichlet Membrane, improvised music recorded live during multiple sessions throughout 2023. Exploring acoustic instruments and analog electronics with intermittent live digital treatments, the duo forges rich and distinct sonic sculptures from experimental augmentation and preparations. Dirichlet Membranes, or D-branes, evoke metaphors for Dulanowky and Vaughn's musical conversations, vibrating at the quantum level as open strings resonate between branes, channeling higher dimensional connections.

In support of the Holophon duo, Witch Knife, aka Cat Haines, adds her signature synth drones and ambient, experimental soundscapes, while Regina legend Guidewire, aka Ryan Hill, honours us with DJ sets from his eclectic and personal archives.

We work so hard - let’s pause and be merry. Join Curtain Razors & Friends for a drop-in afternoon of low key activities.

Pop by the Art Gallery of Regina to say a quick hello, or spend the afternoon with us. Be nourished by warm food, savor a seasonal story, or lift your voice in song with friends & colleagues. Special contributions to the day by New Dance Horizons and Melanie Monique Rose.

Join artist Melanie Monique Rose around the table to share in community storytelling through soft making. Add your mark to our Blanket Story by simply gathering with us or pick up a felting needle and poke poke poke. Through the process of needle felting with colorful wool onto a Saskatchewan made wool blanket we are creating a collaborative art work that has felt many hands and diversity of story and expression over the past few years.
