The Art Gallery of Regina's primary objective is to develop, maintain, and broaden the audience for contemporary art and to encourage the development of Saskatchewan art and artists. The goal of our exhibition program is to show the very best contemporary art currently being produced in this province in the broadest range possible in terms of genres and styles, and to present interesting and provocative exhibitions from outside the province to stimulate the creation of new work and provide a context for Saskatchewan art. Our guiding principles throughout are quality, diversity, accessibility, and a deep respect for artists and their work. Historically the Art Gallery of Regina was among the first in the province to show work by women artists, aboriginal artists, and artists from other marginalized groups and we continue to provide crucial exposure for many artists who are
not being shown elsewhere.
The Gallery provides opportunities to experience, explore and participate in contemporary art including informational and participatory workshops, discussions, Artist Talks, tours, Visiting Artist events, and demonstrations. We also offer programs on the business side of art to encourage the professional development of local artists.
