Jeff Nye is a young emerging artist from the Lumsden valley whose exhibition,“The Fire and the Flood”, was shown at the AGR over the summer. This unique multi-media installation combined elements of painting, video animation and sound to capture the impact of two significant events in the history of his home town. In this show, oil paintings doubled as projection screens for stop-motion animated videos which he created by filming the painting process as it grew and transformed. The works were based on recorded interviews with people who experienced the hotel fire and 1974 floods in that area.

Jeff has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Concordia University in Montreal and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Regina.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
