SK Printmakers

The Stuff of Printmaking

We invite you to learn about the processes and tools used in all different types of printmaking! SKP has gathered tools and objects related to printing processes to educate and engage audiences less familiar with this fascinating medium.

 

Saskatchewan Printmakers is a province-wide, volunteer run not-for-profit that exists to provide print artists at any career stage exhibition and networking opportunities. SKP connects artists working in print media across the province and country.

SKP holds a printmaking conference every 2 years, as well as member exhibitions in Saskatchewan.

Holophon Audio Arts Listening Station

 

Seasons, the inaugural project of Holophon and AGR's Listening Station, is a year long soundscape project featuring four members of the Holophon collective and four guests from the Regina sound art community. Each pairing individually presents their unique response to that season, potentially incorporating field recordings, sonic experimentation and journalistic composition.

The Listening Station is located in the hallway of the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre, and is free and accessible 7 days a week.

Traditional Cultural Marks: Panel Discussion of Traditional Cultural Marks from around the World

This project has been made possible by the Government of Canada.

The panellists reframe assumptions about tattoos informed by Western/Colonial/Christian attitudes and invite our communities to understand cultural marks as acts of care, medicine, spirituality, community-building and cultural continuity.

The event aims to share practices, traditions and insights about traditional cultural marks from Indigenous Canadian, Filipinx and Yoruba perspectives. Attendees can discover how tattoos connect to their identities and cultural traditions.

Krishna Brahmania is a multidisciplinary artist born and based in Regina, Saskatchewan. She is completing her BFA from the University of Regina. Her practice focuses primarily on drawing and painting. She draws inspiration from her childhood fondness of tearing, cutting and pasting paper, her surroundings, and green plants. She explores themes of spaces and human forms juxtaposing with color and composition.
